An organization consisting of over forty private provider agencies that serve over 5,000 people with developmental and other types of disabilities in over 400 different locations throughout Utah. Association members are licensed and qualified provider/agencies that contract with the Department of Human Services, primarily the Utah Division of Services for People with Disabilities, the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation, Workforce Services, care centers, families and private entities.
Member agencies assist individuals living in their homes and communities by providing quality services including residential, day services and training, supported employment, family support, and respite care.

Blind or legally blind. Individuals with special needs must have a caregiver attendee.

Club Vision, AKA The Andrew S. Rowan Reading Room for the Blind is open to anyone who is legally blind. Club members, mostly seniors, meet three times a week at Cottonwood-Murray Elks Lodge for a free luncheon, where volunteers sing and read to them. Also transportation to and from Reading Room if needed (within range). Wheelchair accessible.

Administers the Community Supports, Acquired Brain Injury, and Physical Disabilities   and Community Transitions waiver programs. There is a waiting list dependent on funding by the State Legislature.

The purpose of the Utah Statewide Independent Living Council (USILC) is to:

• Develop and expand independent living programs and philosophy on a statewide basis. 
• Develop and submit the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) in conjunction with the Directors of the state Independent Living Centers and the Designated State Entity (DSE). 
• Hold hearings, forums, and conduct surveys to determine statewide independent living needs.
• Monitor, review, and evaluate implementation of the SPIL
• Coordinate activities with the State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) and other councils, agencies, and organizations that address the needs and issues of the disability population.
• Act as a resource to public and private entities regarding issues relating to people with disabilities.
• Advocate for independent living.

CDRS® (Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialists) work with people of all ages and abilities, exploring alternative transportation solutions for drivers with special needs.

Children and adults. Must be on a program through the Division of Services for People with Disabilities.

Individual legal representation to help with specific problems. Information about services to and rights of persons with disabilities. Legal representation and system advocacy to expand or improve available services/legal rights and protection. Monitoring services to empower Native Americans with disabilities so that they are able to gain or maintain control over their lives and independently exercise their rights. Training to businesses on how to best accommodate employees with disabilities. Training to empower individuals with disabilities and their families to advocate for themselves.

This service is free and loans Braille books and magazines, recorded books and magazines, music in large print and Braille, and playback equipment designed for the visually impaired. Available to US residents with physical or visual impairment.

ADvancing States represents the nation’s 56 state and territorial agencies on aging and disabilities and long-term services and supports directors. The mission of ADvancing States is to design, improve, and sustain state systems delivering long-term services and supports for older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.
