The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Clinic is a quarterly, multispecialty clinic for children with OI or undiagnosed bone fragility disorders. Health care providers from orthopaedics, PT/OT, EOS radiology, social work, care management, nutrition, genetics and developmental pediatrics are each represented to assess and evaluate patients.

Clinics allow for patient families to benefit from the variety of experts, and are an opportunity for families to come together and network with other families dealing with similar challenges.

The Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) clinic is held annually in March, and is a valuable resource for families who have a child with this condition. Orthopaedics, developmental pediatrics, neurology, gastroenterology, ENT, genetics counseling, social work, PT/OT, dental and nutrition are represented at this hugely successful clinic is the first of its kind.

A specialty Hand Clinic is held twice each month. An orthopaedic hand surgeon and occupational therapist see and treat patients with a variety of hand issues.

Provides a wide variety of orthopedic and sports medicine services.

For the treatment of adults with congenital and developmental orthopaedic conditions, neuromuscular disease, hip disorders, deformity of the feet and lower extremities, and the acute management of fractures and injuries.

This clinic is held on the second and third Monday (p.m.) of each month. Orthopaedics, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, social work and nutrition are represented to assess and evaluate patients. Access to wheelchair, orthotics and therapy services (PT/OT, speech) are available as needed.

Requires a referral from an Orthopedic or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist.

Provides evaluation of movement and gait for children. Data can be used to plan treatments and determine whether or not surgery is necessary. Data also provides a baseline to compare future motion/gait results over time. Study procedures take one to two hours.

Provides care for children with stabilized fractures and sports injuries.  No ER services- cannot see those with open wounds or trauma.

SpineScreen app is free. Scoliosis is most commonly diagnosed between 10-15 years of age.

Provides free app developed by the experts at Shriners Hospitals for Children, that enables parents to perform a preliminary spine check on their child. The SpineScreen app detects abnormal curves when the phone is moved along a child’s back, giving parents a quick, informal way to regularly monitor their child’s spines. Parents can also schedule annual reminders, learn the signs of scoliosis and explore treatment options. The app is only a tool and results should be followed up by a doctor’s examination for an official diagnosis of scoliosis.
