Reading services available for people with disabilities through materials found in public libraries in formats accessible to the blind and disabled. A clearinghouse of referrals and information on positive parenting, child development, academic achievement, literacy, learning disabilities, life skills and character development, drug and alcohol prevention and support parenting issues.

Services Include:

• Classes and workshops are offered in parenting, literacy, character development and improving life skills, and parent/teacher training in Student Education Plans (SEP).

• Lending library, brochures, pamphlets, books, tapes and videos.

For families with children who have cerebral palsy.

Provides the following family services:

• Family TIES:  Participants of Family TIES meet quarterly to provide a chance for parents of children with disabilities to network one another.  
• Respitality:  Families benefit from the generosity of hotels and restaurants that provide free accommodations and a meal for two, during a 24-hour getaway.  During this time, FFI offers care for the family member with a disability and any siblings within the home.
• Information and Referral: FFI provides information and referral services to people who want to connect with services within the community or state.  FFI also has a library of reference material (written and video) for those who need more information about cerebral palsy and related topics.
• Equipment Purchase Assistance: This program provides coordination of funding and financial assistance to purchase needed equipment and services, such as wheelchairs, communication devices and adapted bikes. 

Satellite program of the Division of Services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH). Provides education, advocacy and accessible support services which enhance the quality of life for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Any resident of the United States or American citizen living abroad who is unable to read or use regular print materials as a result of temporary or permanent visual or physical limitations may receive service through NLS.

This service is free and loans Braille books and magazines, recorded books and magazines, music in large print and Braille, and playback equipment designed for the visually impaired. Available to US residents with physical or visual impairment.

Administered nationally through cooperating regional and local libraries.

The Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP) provides services designed to support and improve the academic achievement of students who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind. These services include (1) a library of free-loan described and captioned educational media; (2) a clearinghouse of information related to educational media access, including a gateway to Internet resources related to accessibility; and (3) a center for training and evaluation of any service provider desiring to appear on the DCMPs approved lists of description and captioning service providers. There are no user registration or service fees.

The DCMP is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the National Association of the Deaf.

The Foundation aims to improve outcomes for individuals with OCD and related disorders by:

• Providing resources and support for those affected by OCD, including individuals with OCD and related disorders, their family members, friends, and loved ones.
• Promoting awareness about OCD and related disorders to the OCD community and the general public.
• Increasing access to effective treatment through:
  • Educating mental health professionals about evidence-based treatments.
  • Providing a forum for professional collaboration and networking.
  • Supporting research into the causes of and treatments for OCD and related disorders.
