Provide Feedback

Programs staffed by nurses or other trained professionals or volunteers that visit the homes of first-time mothers during pregnancy and the first two years of the child's life to help the women improve their personal health and development during the prenatal period and learn to care for the child following birth. The visits encourage the mothers to maintain good nutrition; and provide information regarding danger signs in pregnancy, preparation for labor and delivery, breastfeeding and other feeding options, baby supplies, basic infant care, newborn behaviors and child development. Child birth to 3 years of age and be determined to have a developmental delay in one qualifying area or by medical diagnosis. Family must live within Granite, Murray, Salt Lake City, Tooele County, or Duchesne County School Districts. Families who meet 100% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Services Provided:

Offers an intensive, comprehensive, and flexible Early Head Start child development program that is designed to reinforce and respond to the unique strengths and needs of each individual child and family. Pregnant women can receive prenatal and postnatal education, toddlers, and infants receive services through weekly home visits, or in a collaborative partnership in a community child care setting.COVID-19 UPDATE: Per the office of Head Start, all Head Start staff, some contractors, and all volunteers are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and universal masking for all individuals two-years of age and older. Working toward full, in-person comprehensive services. All individuals are required to be fully vaccinated by January 31, 2022. DDIV EHS is required to reinstate pre-pandemic practices by January, 2022.
