Family program for children and youth with special needs, providing physical activities in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. By working alongside skilled volunteers, the program builds friendships, increases self-esteem, improves motor skills and physical fitness while having fun in a nurturing environment. The key to the success of the U-Fit Program is family involvement. Activities include Aquatics, Art, Dance, Gym.

Friday evenings 6-8 pm in West HPER Building (West 116) and in the swimming pool at the University of Utah

Provides music therapy and art therapy services in intensive care, hospice and palliative care, neurology and outpatient settings; can assist with pain management, premature infants, psychiatric behavioral health, anxiety, coping skills for individuals and families.

Supports the aims and objectives of the American Music Therapy Association; to promote the growth of Music Therapy as a profession in the state of Utah; to provide a professional support group for Music Therapists in Utah; to encourage ongoing education of Music Therapy by providing speakers, workshops, and other special projects.

Utah music therapists and students meet bi-annually to discuss current events in music therapy, employment, and other pending issues. State conferences are held annually.

Music therapists at Primary Children’s Hospital provide music therapy services throughout the hospital. Music therapists use specifically designed interventions created for each patient, to assist with procedural support, rehabilitative needs, emotional, spiritual and psychological support. Many services are provided by the music therapist at the patients bedside, but PCH also has a unique music therapy space dedicated for patients, families and staff to meet with the music therapy team.

Inpatient children and teens

Recreational therapy rooms created to provide tools for exercising the imagination of seriously ill children who face emotional and physical challenges. There are many activities including art and crafts, games, books, toys, dress-up, medical play, and BINGO Wednesdays.

The playroom features specific areas for teens, infants and patients with sensory needs. The playroom provides a calming yet energetic space.

Sophie's Place provides music therapy to children at Primary Children's.

The Forever Young Zone is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with occasional closures for special events and holidays.

Treehouse Children's Museum, Ogden is also a Forever Young Zone.

The Forever Young Foundation serves children facing significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges by providing them with academic, athletic, and therapeutic opportunities currently unavailable to them. Forever Young Foundation primarily focuses efforts in Northern California, Arizona, Utah, and Ghana, Africa.

Ages 18 and over

The LEADD Program (Learning and Engaging through Arts Discipline and Development) is an arts and education program for adults with disabilities. The LEADD Program is designed to give artists with disabilities a place to learn and grow as individuals as well as express themselves as artists through multiple artistic mediums and genres.
Need-based scholarships and monthly payment options are available. Tanner Dance is a DSPD provider. Fall and Spring sessions.
